REAGAN KELLY
A NEW AUSTRALIAN COMEDY BY LEWIS TRESTON

Reagan Kelly; she drinks, she smokes and she speaks her mind. In her hometown of Brisbane Australia, Reagan is facing her quarter life crisis. She’s unemployed, living with her parents, with her credit card in a constant state of decline. As the lives of those she loves and loathes begin to crack wide open, Reagan begins to discover what it’s truly like to be out of control.

Lewis Treston’s darkly comic, yet punchy and poignant play is a view into the day to day crises that human beings suffer, and closely examines contemporary life in a society that expects us to be archetypes of ourselves. Reagan Kelly is the story of a modern family’s breakdown at the hands of society’s ever-judgemental eye, and one off the rail twenty-something.

The European premiere production of Reagan Kelly is presented in conjunction with T he Out of Work Collective , a London based theatre company founded in November 2016. The company aims to create opportunities for those artists currently ‘resting’ or ‘out of work’ who primarily work front of house jobs in London’s West End Theatres. The company quickly took shape with their debut production O rdinary Days at Ye Olde Rose and Crown, followed by an original cabaret A nd the Award Goes To..! performed at both The Water Rats Pub and Gerry’s Kitchen-Theatre Royal Stratford East. Still in its first year, The Out of Work Collective continues to grow; adding workshops and classes to it’s repertoire and developing new writing
projects.
